RCA October Meeting- District 18 State Delegation + Montrose East Project Manager

After a restful summer break, the RCA hits the ground running with our October general meeting featuring our own District 18 delegation: Senator Rich Madaleno, and Representatives Jeff Waldstreicher, Al Carr, and Ana Sol Gutierrez. This is a pretty big deal, getting all of them here at once ready to address our concerns. Let’s pack the house and show them our neighborhood matters.

We will be discussing Montrose Parkway East, the Garrett Park Road bridge, and a new MARC station and pedestrian crossing at Wyaconda Road in addition to your other state level concerns.

Also, Jon Hutchings, the project manager for the Montrose Parkway East project will be on hand to give a brief overview of the planned roadway and will answer any questions.

Please join us Thursday, October 5th, 8pm at the Veirs Mill Park community center located near the corner of Garrett Park Rd and Beach Drive.

April RCA Meeting

Many in the community have been quite understandably concerned following the Ashley Drive house explosion of March 17. There remain many unanswered questions on issues including interior and exterior natural gas leaks, clean up and security at the explosion site, and remediation of damage to surrounding homes.

This coming Thursday, April 6 we will be hosting representatives from the Fire Department, Police Department, Washington Gas, Councilmember Navarro’s office, and the county Regional Services center to help answer questions on these and many other important issues .

Please plan on coming out- this is an exceedingly rare opportunity for access to so many sources of information in one place, and right here in our community.

Date: April 6, 2017 8:00-9:30pm

Location:
Viers Mill Rec Center
4425 Garrett Park Road
(Intersection of Garrett Park Road and Beach Drive)
