February 2020 Executive Meeting Minutes

Meeting Date

Thursday, February 6, 2020 8:00-9:30pm

Call to order 8:03pm

Beer Fest — Josh Silverstein

The board debated whether to try and do a winter or spring event like last year’s Beer Fest. It was decided that without someone willing to take the job on immediately it was too late to try for something that elaborate this year. Perhaps something in late August or September. However, the board agreed on a simpler event: a s’mores night on the civic green. Joe agreed to head this project, much more ad hoc, where the RCA will provide the ingredients for s’mores and firewood and possibly hot chocolate. The date for this is to be determined. There was a brief digression into discussing the upcoming meeting about the stop sign at Beach and Wexford, with several board members planning to attend.

June 2019 General Meeting Minutes

Call to order

The meeting was called to order at 7:45 pm. Brian Hooker provided a brief overview of tonight’s agenda, which includes RCA elections, the Echo newsletter, MusicFest lessons learned, RCA Civic Green ground rules, insurance policy, and standard business. Jared Solomon, one of our representatives to the Maryland House of Delegates, joined the meeting.

May 2019 General Meeting Minutes

Thursday, May 2, 2019 8:00-9:30pm

Call to order

The meeting was called to order at 8:05pm. Brian Hooker makes opening remarks. Tonight’s guest speaker is Andy Frank, Environmental Engineering Supervisor at Montgomery Parks. He was invited to address the community about the three-way stop signs that was temporarily installed at the corner of Beach Drive and Wexford Drive. These signs were in place from Thursday April 11th through Saturday April 13th and were controversial to commuters and residents of the area. Also in attendance is Assistant Chief of Patrol Division of the Maryland-National Capital Park Police, Captain Jeffrey Coe to address questions relating to traffic enforcement at this particular intersection.

February 2019 General Meeting Minutes

Call to order – The meeting was called to order at 8:05pm by Chad Salganik

Old Business

Membership drive

Colby Prevost, RCA Treasurer, provided a summary of this year’s membership drive thus far. We have 120 members as of late, who have contributed approximately $5000 to the Randolph Civic Association (RCA). Of the 120 members, approximately 110 have chosen to take advantage of our membership offer that includes a discount card for local businesses. All participating businesses can be found on the RCA’s website: http://randolphcivic.org/about/benefitscard/. Colby said that the RCA had a second rush for members with advertisement in a second Echo newsletter. There was a discussion about when the membership drive for this year would end. We will have one more Echo advertising RCA membership. During this discussion, it was mentioned that the RCA’s spring event, MusicFest, needs to be put on the calendar.
